"We are only just a sum of our experiences, things and those who inspire us, we are what our environment supports... there is no life without the aliveness of others..."
"...And even when I sometimes hate the fact that I have to paint my own silver lining, hate that I have to just lean into the good times, all I have to be grateful for…
I give myself a moment to hate it, I feel that emotion, I give it space, I let it live. It’s allowed to be there.
and then I shift, and I make room for light… when I’m ready, when necessary.
"I have a simple message for today and it stems from my current personal life happenings. If you saw on Instagram last week, I was preparing for surgery (which I’m currently recovering from for the next few weeks).
The anxiety I was having a few days before was pretty extreme. After researching the internet for information to try and calm my nerves and finding nothing, I reached out to my community..."
I think about the expectations and my standards for myself as a person and what I hope my life to look like. What do I want to do more of, what do I want to practice, where do I want to be better…
I focus in on what brings me joy, what makes me feel good, and what is important to my routine, rituals and livelihood…
For me, a huge part of my life is staying active. And you know that this is a huge theme of Mondays Are Good Days: that movement is medicine.
Some weeks I like to keep the message simple by revisting the purpose of Mondays Are Good Days. Taking a few minutes to think on its purpose and understand how it can help us today.
Some stoic philosopher might write some aphorism (a short formulation of truth or sentiment) about it like: The lesson is in the message.
This letter will help "...generate power and determination in the transitional and maybe uncertain parts of your life right now, as well as thoughts on reframing our minds to eliminate half the struggles we feel and combat them in an equanimous way…"
Let me remind you that you will need confidence, persistence, and self-worth in order to put some real substance and elbow grease behind your actions to get this locomotive en route to your paradise.
*Remember that I’m in this with you - writing this, reading this, living this day - remembering that Mondays Are Good Days and there is so much damn power in this day, in this mindset.
Your happiness lives within you as you passionately pursue; no matter how large or small the task, no matter the size of the audience, no matter how long you have left to go or how much you’ve accomplished before.
I want you to take up space today.
“Be” confident in those ways: boldly asking, unapologetically telling, standing tall, shooting your shot.
Think about it: You would be so mad if someone told you “you can’t” so why would you ever say that to yourself?
You would never accept that kind of response from a person, so why would you ever believe it coming from YOU?
You know it’s not the truth from them, so it’s not the truth from you.
We can be hard on ourselves and let Lower Self dominate the conversation… or we can be aware: when we hear those words and those thoughts, we stop them.
